A life long Floridian, Capt. C.A. Richardson has also been a technical poling skiff guide along the west coast of Florida for 18 years, but he's been honing his skills as a sight fisherman for more than three decades. He's also a seasoned traveling angler who has sampled every coastal state from North Carolina to south Texas, and a little bit of the Caribbean as well. These varied experiences have led to so many of the strategies and techniques he teaches in his fishing classes and on the popular television series Flats Class.
In 2001, he started a seminar series (Flats Class) to cultivate guide clients that enjoyed the nostalgic style of sight fishing the flats and backcountry with artificials & fly gear. These popular seminars and instructional charters eventually led to the Flats Class television series in 2006 with the help of Forrest Fox & Dan Larson. Now, 10 years later in 2016, Flats Class has acquired a national audience through its longtime television and social media presence. Capt. C.A. Richardson's ability to communicate valuable "how-to" information and fishing tips is what separates Flats Class from all the rest!
