I'm really looking forward to tonight's episode of WFN News. They are taking a look at the Genmar bankruptcy and how it affects FLW Outdoors. There has been a lot of talk about this recently, and it's still uncertain how it will end up affecting the fishing industry. Irwin Jacobs stepped down as the former chairman of Genmar - presumably to make an offer to purchase Ranger Boats from Genmar. Jacobs also owns FLW Outdoors. It will be great to get all the facts in one segment on WFN News.
FLW Outdoors and Evinrude settled their conflicts recently. They made an out of court settlement, and signed a new multi-year sponsorship contract. With the current economic situation it's great to see that they have been able to settle everything and that FLW Outdoors has a new motor sponsor for 2010.
Also on tonight's episode of WFN News is a new feature called A Fish Tale. Tonight's feature will tell the story of the new Canadian tournament record weight. It was set at the end of September by Charles Sim and Nigel Touhey. It was the first time that the 30lbs mark was broken during a Canadian tournament. It's an amazing feat, and shows how excellent of a bass fishery we have near the WFN head office.
Be sure to tune in tonight at 7:30pm ET for these stories and more!
