Greatest Fishing Tips

Safety, Safety and one more Safety.
It does not matter how you are fishing but you should keep your Safety in mind at all times. For us Kayakers at minimum, a PFD , a light, a whistle and a communication device! Let somebody know where you planning on fishing. Do not fish alone if you are new to the Sport. Keep an Eye on the Weather, things can change fast. No bait in the world is going to help you if you find yourself in trouble. For Kayakers it is a good idea to practice self rescue under different weather conditions.
There are other things to keep in mind. During the summer, hydration and sunscreen come to mind.
No matter if you fish from shore, a boat or a kayak, leave the alcohol at home. You are not safe if you are impaired .I could give you some great advice on how to catch some great game fish but I do feel that none of that is important if you are not safely enjoying our sport.

So my best and greatest fishing advice is: Stay safe and make sure safety stays on your mind, while you catching that Trophy Fish

Holiday Wish List/ Gift Ideas for Anglers with a Challenge buy Made in USA

This is going to be fairly easy for me since I wrote a blog not too long ago about buying Made in USA. Many items mentioned in that blog are Made in USA, Kayak fishing and fishing related. http://vbjavalover.blogspot.com/2011/11/christmas-and-hunt-for-items-made-in.html For me personally I do not need anything this year. Maybe upgrade /replace one fishing Rod. That is about it.

Some Advice on Taking your Children fishing

This is fresh on my mind since I took Michaela Offer age 9 and Amara Lally age 10 fishing this morning. First and foremost, you better get it out of your head that you will be fishing while with your children. Trust me; leave your Rod at home! Task 22: Ultimate Type of Fishing, A true ''Toss up'' Task

This Task wasn't easy for me. If we had  coldwaterTrout fly-fishing opportunities closer to home, it would be fly fishing hands down. There is nothing like standing in that cold stream, surrounded by Mother Nature. In my opinion Fly Fishing is an Art. A skill that is nearly forgotten but regaining on popularity. More and more women are seen casting a Fly. For my own victory I caught my very

Hello my name is Kirsten but nobody ever calls me that unless I did something wrong, so Kris is just fine :) I love to fish, prefered method is from a Kayak. But you will not catch me turning down any oppertunity to fish. Fresh or Salt, Flyfishing .... most of the time I fish with artificial lures. Freshwater is a bit more frustrating to me and I will resort to worms here and there. It is important to me to get others involved or interested in the sport. So I spend part of my time volunteering my time at events.
