Now that I'm in between the soft water and hard water season I have had
time to reflect on the outstanding big fish year my clients have had.
One of clients Reade Baker caught an impressive 7.34lbs Largemouth off a
shallow log have submerged, he cast to about twenty similar other logs
with nothing and then bam the fish smashed his Senko! I couldn't
believe the size of it, I haven't seen a Largemouth that big in a few
years. Most people in their right mind would have abandoned this
pattern after the tenth log. Grinding pays off for big bites!

My client Robert Pellan from Calgary had a "Planes, Trains and
Automobiles" type experience trying to get to Ontario to catch a big
Smallmouth. His flight was almost canceled three times, was held up by
fog, the cab took him to the wrong hotel and was ripped off by the
driver. Guess what all his pain and suffering paid off. He caught a
6lb 13oz and many other 5lb plus fish on the day. He was shocked and in
awe when he saw this beast surface, what a site it was awesome, lol!
This beast was caught on a new drop shot minnow made by Strike Zone
Tournament Baits, I believe the bait is still not released on the
market. You can email me for more info on the new baits soon to be released
at taro.murata@gmail.com
My other client I like to call big fish Jamie hauled in this 51" Musky
and this high 14 lb Walleye in the same year taking two big fish from
different categories. The Musky came on Top Raider

and the Walleye came
on a Storm Jointed MinnowStick.
In the kids department Donnell Johnston caught this big 13.5lb Lake
Trout on a 3/4 Buck Shot Tipped with a Finesse Fish, he found the minnow
on the bottom of the boat and said, "now that have this minnow on I'm
gonna' catch a big fish". And that is exactly what the Young Gun did,
lol!
In the female department big fish honors got to Diana Ricci hauled
in this chunky Musky I estimate to be around 20lbs but didn't weigh it due hot weather.

My
client James Appleby and I hauled in this 2.32lb perch caught on a Pan
Slammer, it was heavier than that but by the time we weighed it it lost a
ton of eggs in the live well, I heard that his fish might have been a
Simcoe record if it was weighed on time. My client hooked this fish but
thought he was snagged so I grabbed the rod to get the bait free and
this thing was on the line, it felt like a bass, lol!

My client Davie Tham caught a giant crappie just over the 2lb mark
caught on a Mimmic Minnow.
Rob Voth got the big Toronto Pike honors
with this 40plus incher, caught on a homemade spinner bait ; )
As
for me, my big fish were not even close to the size of my clients but
that's okay! Watching people catch the biggest fish of their lives has
given me a whole new type of enjoyment! Here is a video of one the biggest
fish I caught this year on a flipping jig, enjoy, its kinda' funny. If
