Fishing Like you've never seen before!

I have been working with Sundog Eyewear for almost a year and a half now, and after months of emails, prototypes, field test and trials, we are now "in the game!"

From a company that made its name in the game of golf, with great Signature Series Ambassadors such as Hunter Mahan, Paula Creamer and Masters Champion Mike Weir, the well established sunglass manufacturer has dived into the waters of the fishing world with both feet! We are now proud to announce the launch of my Signature Series of Sunglasses for ANGLERS! The Mark Melnyk Signature Series is now available at www.sundogeyewear.com !

To launch, we have 3 different styles designed - the Halo, the 22 Degrees and the Phantom and I am here to tell you that the lens technology in these glasses will change the way you see the sport of fishing (I know, bad pun, but it's the TRUTH.)

When Sundog approached me, I was very hesitant to attach my name to a product that had the possibility of being  "run of the mill" and I let the Sundog Brass know that.  They had to prove to me they had something new, inventive, different and technologically advanced, or I didn't want to be a part of it.  so we started to do the research and development dance.  When I got the first prototype, I was BLOWN AWAY, and jumped on board with Sundog immediately!

The ability to fish in any light condition with literally zero eye fatigue floored me.  I've worn many different high-end sunglass brands and often came off the water with fatigue headaches and severe eye strain stress.  I have yet to experience this wearing these sunglasses.  So Why?  Why do they stand apart?

1) Polarization - they are well polarized - we all know as anglers, without polarized sunglasses, you may as well be fishing with your eyes closed!

2) Photochromic Properties - they change tint in different light conditions.  During sunny days the lenses go dark, and in  low light conditions such as cloud cover or dawn/dusk, the lenses lighten up.  This keeps the same uniform tint all day in any condition.  The first time I wore the glasses, I actually forgot I was wearing sunglasses.

3) Mela-Lens Tecnology - basically, this is the technological advancement I was looking for.  Mela-Lens technology not only  eliminates UV, it significantly reduces high energy visible light without any color distortion.  The lens contains synthetic melanin - the human body's own defense mechanism from high energy visible light.  This filtration reduces veiled glare resulting in improved short term performance (day by day) and greater protection long term (over the life of your eyes).

Bottom line, you can fish all day in comfortable, polarized shades, and for me, lenses that eliminate all strain and headaches.  The glasses also come with a water repellent coating and an oil repelling coating.

To see more, to learn about the great things coming out of the Sundog Eyewear Camp, go to www.sundogeyewear.com and change the way you see the sport we love.  This is fishing's ultimate performance eyewear and there is no other lens like it.

Chesapeake Bay Fall Classic Part 2 - The Motivation!

So we were hungry... looking for that elusive 52 pounder to take the lead at the MSSA Chesapeake Fall Classic.  Looking for that fish to WIN Up EARLY, we were at our spot in good time for "lines in".  The sun crested the horizon just before 6:30 am and was a welcomed source of much needed heat after our 30 minute run to where the big girls live.  When fishing tournaments, I find
