Well, it's been a while since my last post and so much has gone on! I've been working really hard to keep up with the lure orders. The new products have been a big hit - especially the wacky leech. Our swimbaits are just about ready to get out to our dealers, but we still have a couple of weeks before our custom clamshell packaging is ready. We now have three sizes coming out; a 3-1/4 inch, a 4 inch and one that I'm really excited about is the 5 3/4 inch that is already catching largemouth in the southern US. The cool part is it can be used weightless and still track straight. I can hardly wait to get out on Georgian Bay to try it on some shallow pike when the season opens. I'll keep you posted!
I recently got a chance to fish with Paul Castellano from Cast Adventures on the Niagara River. Paul is a good friend and top-notch angler and guide. My good friend Dave Chong joined us for the day. Paul told me about some of the good catches of trout on my new shiver shad, so we were eager to get on the water and give them a try!
We met Paul in the morning and man was it cold! Paul navigated around the floating ice and slush until we reached our first spot. The morning bite was slow as the trout were sluggish after an extreme cold front. The strong north wind howling through the river valley didn't help, but Paul put us on a great drift that was well sheltered and the action heated up! We caught several nice browns and a nice rainbow that Dave Caught. It was great to get out and fish with friends and share a laugh or two!
I was very happy to know that my bass lure is being well received by the trout population! I designed a larger version of the shiver shad and plan to test it on the walleye population on the Detroit River with my friend and charter captain Bob Devine from Chartertalk Guide Service. I fished with Bob on the Detroit a couple of years back while filming for television and had a blast! Lots of great eating sized fish along with some real bruisers that we released. Booking a trip with Bob is a great way to shake those winter blahs and usher in spring!
Our website is being totally redone, and we will be featuring video clips with great information and rigging tips. I look forward to writing my next blog, which will feature my time on the water!
Until then, tightlines!

My fishing luer business has had an amazing year! I have the anglers across N.America to thank for that! We are going into 2011 with an awesome team of anglers in both Canada and the USA, I'm proud to have 2 BASS Elite anglers on team Strikezone Travis Manson of Wisconsin and Matt Greenbatt of Florida! It truly is a dream to compete at this level and I wish Travis and Matt all the best
The weather is cooling down, but the amazing fall bass fishing is heating up!
Keep fishing until the last minute because you never know what the next cast will bring.
