Why the smaller lakes are great fishing.

I love to fish smaller lakes in my area for a couple of reasons instead of the larger lakes.  I am not a professional fisherman so the smaller lakes for me are easier to get around on than the larger lakes.  The fishing is usually the best on these lakes and they are easier to access then the larger lakes.

Me not being a pro fisherman means I am just fishing when I am able to between time with family and work.  These smaller lakes are a lot closer for me to get to.  The equipment that I have is also a lot lower grade then the pros.  I am dealing with a little 12' row boat that was a hand me down from my father and his father. The motor on is is a 30lb thrust trolling motor.  Most of the smaller lakes I end up on are electric motor only and that is okay  with me cause that is all I have.  If I need the exercise then I can just row around the lake instead of using the motor.

The fishing is usually great cause just like any thing if you pack a small area with fish the chances of getting bit are better.  The nooks and crannies on these lakes can be explored easier cause you don't have a lot of lake to finish fishing before sundown.  They have easy access in and out even for a larger boat, but being electric only stops the large boats from entering them.  Fisherman like to show off their boats, it is their pride and joy, but me I would rather show off the catches I get.  There are a lot of catches to be had on the smaller lakes and rivers.

My personnel record fishing trips

First off I am going to apologize for no photos due to my lack of a camera in the past.  Best Bass: 26" 3 1/2 lbs was the best fish I ever caught. Best Pike:  32" 5 lbs I heard this one splash cast to it and it answered the call.  Only problem was it swam right to the boat and had no fight in it. Best pan fish:  3" Caught it last year on my fly rod. I was so proud this
