This week- Contest winner on Extreme Angler TV

Posted On January 16, 2013

This week on Extreme Angler TV, I welcome a special guest on-board, and that is Debbie Thomson from Windsor Ontario who participated in the "Monster Contest" we ran last winter on social media platforms including Facebook, Twitter, etc.

Debbie was drawn as the lucky winner to appear on the show which was filmed on location at Olive the Lake lodge, owned and operated by my buddy Bruce MacDonald near Marten River Ontario.Along with the opportunity to appear on the show, Debbie was treated to several days accomodations at the lodge in her own cottage with full meal plan and all the fishing she wanted from shore and boat during her stay.

Although the surroundings and fishing is top notch at Olive Lake lodge, one of the truly incredible aspects of coming here every year is the incredible meals prepared by Bruce`s wife, who holds nothing back when she prepares a meal. Breakfast, lunch & dinner, five star treatment all the way!

We fished for smallmouth bass along scattered weed patches and rock piles in a few back bays with one of the deadliest presentations at Olive lake and that is the drop shot technique. Easy to use, learn and perfect in short order. Debbie learned real quick how to shake the bait, when to set the hook and land her share of some very nice bass while the cameras were rolling.

A few smallies for the camera before release.

Along with the awesome experience, Debbie received a bonus tackle package including a St.Croix rod, Evercast reel, Strike King lures, Snag Proof frogs, Daiichi hooks, Extreme Angler swag, Fishouflage headgear and a whole bunch of fishin` stuff to add to her collection.
She sure had a good time as did the rest of the folks who we`re vacationing at Olive the Lake during our short stay, but like every other time we have stayed at this lodge, the memories will last a lifetime.

Enjoy the show.
