Were do I begin? This late fall fishing for smallmouth bass on smaller inland cottage country lakes has been nothing short of "extremely incredible". Over the last 2 weeks, I have visited some of favorite smallmouth lakes in Ontario's near north cottage country in search of a big bass bite and have yet to be disappointed by the results, and what makes it even more exciting is capturing all
Had a amazing day yesterday filming a show for Extreme Angler TV on a north-eastern Kawartha Lakes District lake using the Strike King Tour Grade Football jig and Baby Rage Craw trailer in summer craw tones. The weatherman finally got it correct, no rain and low winds made for perfect conditions to fish/film on a location that requires precise boat positioning very close to rock walls and rock
Man, has this summer gone by in a flash. One day I`m preparing my boat and gear for Bass season opener, the next thing I know, I`m loading up my long johns and cold weather gear for autumn road trips. When trout are repeatedly rising for flies, My "Floating Menace" is the pattern to try. Tied parachute style, this fly is absolutely deadly when fish are feeding on insects trapped in the surface. The thing that sets parachute flies apart is the way the hackle is tied around a wing post, which sits upright at 90 degrees to the hook shank. ...FISH-ON!
This is the "fluttering" type of Mayfly. It is tied just contrary to a conventional fly; that is, the head of the fly starts at the rear of the hook instead of at the front of the hook. Tying a fly in this manner gives it a fluttering erratic action when slowly retrieved through the water. ... FISH-ON!

On our way to the Cabin we had to pull a 200lb sled with all our essentials on it for the weekend.
