ice fishing toys

ice fishing has changed over the years, back in the day hard water fishermen would have his five gallon pail a trusty old hand auger and a spool of line with a hook on the end. times truly have changed. there are many tools and techniques to change ice fishing for the better new technology makes it so that fishermen can catch more fish and have a better experience. new accessories are used so fishing is tolerable in all weather conditions.
instead of a spool of line there are many new ways to fish threw the ice, like:
   - tip ups, a extremely useful tool that tells you when a fish bites your line

this is used by many ice anglers it is a good way for kids to catch fish.
  -  another alteration of the tip up was made for dedicated fishermen who fish in windy conditions

much like the tip up the flag in du when a fish moves your line but what is different is the line doesn't just hang in the water it will jig up and down in the wind possibly attracting fish with the motion also making the bait look like it is swimming in the water. this tool is very clever and is a good tool to experiment with when your having a slow day out on the ice.
   - for smaller fish like pan fish ice fishing rods are a very helpful and are easy to transport

these rods are much shorter than a regular rod and are more convenient for fishing threw the ice when fishing for panfish some people use a spring bobber on the end of the rod because small panfish do not bite a hook with much power so the sensitive bobber shows the light indication of this fish biting.
there is many other ways to put a line down the hole but these are some of the main ones that i and many others have been introduced to.
accessories have been invented to make fishing more tolerable and also more entertaining some accessories are:
 - one of my favorite items to use for ice fishing is the under water camera

the camera shows what the scenery is like under water and where the fish are also where the structure is when i use my camera i like to use it to watch my bait and see my jigging patterns and watch fish bite the hook this is a fun accessory for all fishermen.
 - a ice shack is an useful tool for fishermen when they want to fish during some of the harsher elements the tents that are made now are easily transportable and truly a great help.

these tents aren't the cheapest part of your ice fishing gear but are helpful when you need to get out of the snow or want to look at the camera without the glare from the sun and also is great for the cold days when a small heater may be needed. over all this item was worth the cost.
 - ice augers are a necessary part of ice fishing when you live in a place like canada where there is 2 to 3 feet of ice on the lake. it takes a lot of time and a lot of effort to drill threw 2 feet of solid ice so gas and electric powered augers were invented and very helpful.

these are also fairly expensive but almost necessary

there is alot of new toys in the ice fishing resently and  all are a good part of the ice fishing experience
