Pro King Spoons

Posted On June 25, 2011
There are so many spoons on the market and each anglers has his favorites and typically keeps 2-3 brands in a variety of sizes and colours.  One of my favorite brands of spoons by far is Pro King.  Here is a run down of the specifications of the lure.

The cupped, taped design of the Pro King Spoon is perfect for catching salmon, trout and other game fish. Each spoon comes with VMC trebled hooks and can be trolled at a variety of speeds for different results. The silver holographic back is taped with the best color combinations, covering the full color spectrum.

The Magnum spoons create a better action with more flash to attract and catch larger fish. Certain spoons are available with Glow and Extended "Pro Glo" tapes. The extended glow tape is a blue extended glow but it shows up white on the images. The colors on the tape range from yellow to purple depending on reflection.

This one particular brand is responsible for putting more fish in my boat year after year.  Getting even more specific, the spoon in the picture below is responsible for catching the most and biggest fish by far.  Before I set the lure in the downrigger or dipsy, I inform every fishing partner for that day how good this lures is and 9 times out of 10 it is the hottest spoon of the day.

Go out and get yourself a dozen, because when they run out, you'll be sorry you didnt grab a few more!
Got this 32lb'er last year off of Port Credit on the famous lemon lime spoon.

South Shore Lake Ontario Spring Trout Salmon

Its Spring time and the Southern Shore of Lake Ontario is starting heat up. The warm water outflow from the Niagara River is calling in baitfish to the shallows and trout and salmon are gorging themselves on smelt and alewife. This year I've been lucky enough to get out on the water a few times and earlier than most considering the early Spring we've had. Trolling shallow water calls for a more

Spring Steelhead at its Finest!!!

With Spring steelheading in full swing, rivers are teaming with hungry bright chrome steelhead. Since I've been away in Florida, I've been dying to come back to tie into some sweet steel. After speaking with a few friends and observing weather and stream data, I decided to hit a North Shore Lake O Trib along side my good buddy Adam. With warm weather and snow on the bank, you just

On Lake Ontario with Maui Jim Downrigging in the Blue Zone

I spent a day on Lake Ontario last summer downrigging for trout and salmon and it was one of those hot as heck and very bright days. Blue bird skies and not a cloud in sight. The sun was coming at me from every angle, and the glare on the water was incredibly strong. The great thing about these days is that the sun helps with throwing a really good flash off the lure to get the fishes

Fall Steelheading/Amundson Centrepin Combo Review

Fall time is tributary time. Time to put the boat away and brake out the long sticks. This fall has been very rewarding having a lot of success on numerous rivers. If you've never fished for brown and rainbow trout before, you can't beat the feeling you get when you hook your first tail walking salmonid of the season. Timing is key! Wait for a big blast of rain and make your way down to
