I guess my personal best would have on Lake Erie in 2010. I was throwing out a natural smoke coloured Slammer bait by xZone lures, shaky head technique , on spinning tackle. I hooked and landed at least 25 hard fighting small mouth Bass over 3 1/2 pounds with a few kickers in 5-6 pound range . In just a few hours before things started to get really rough and ugly on the big lake.
With all the mild weather and all the rain this fall ,trout fishing has been alright. I have seen a lot more anglers this year than the last few years, but fish numbers are good,and most anglers have been releasing their catch which is GREAT !
Sometimes you gotta leave the big city ,drive a couple hours and head out to the backwoods in search of Ontario most colourful and majestic looking species the Brook Trout. Casting small crank baits and jerk baits along points ,shoals and falling timber shoreline seem to be the ticket. Fish caught by Rui Mederios
Lake Erie offers some great clear water fishing for small mouth bass. You can get fish on just about anything you throw at them, Top water,Spinner bugs,Jerk ,crank baits,drop shot,or jigs. My favourite is top water but conditions have to be perfect for this presentation, my most productive rig is a tube jig.
It's seems like everytime I walk through the beaten path to my favorite fishing hole I can't help noticing all the nature and wildlife that is everywhere . (White Tail Deer and Red Tail Hawks)
I'm an avid angler from Toronto Ontario. I've been hooked on fishing after catching my first Rock Bass at the age of 8 years old. I fish every chance I get ,before,after work ,weekends and on my days off work. I enjoy all types of fishing , Ice Fishing, Stream ,Great Lakes,small inland Lakes and even Deep Sea Fishing, but smallies and steelies rank up there in my favorites.. In 2002 my very good friend Mark Kulik from x Zone Lures won our first ever Pro Bass Tournament in Parry Sound. All I know is that I live to fish and I'm amazed by almost anything that swims in the freshwater lakes and streams in southern Ontario .... So when I can't be fishing the next best thing is WFN..
