Hello Everyone!

Well since this is my first post please allow me to introduce myself.  I am an active member of the CF and an avid angler primarily for Bass but also enjoy catching other species including Pike.  Right now home is the town of Petawawa, Ontario which is located in the Ottawa Valley nestled between the nation's capital Ottawa and the Northern city of North Bay.  Petawawa is located directly on the banks of the mighty Ottawa River.  The Ottawa River has many tributaries which includes one of the world's top ranked white water rivers the Petawawa River.  The Ottawa River is a diverse and robust ecosystem which boasts a wide range of fishing opportunities for a multitude of species which include Bass, Walleye, Pike, Muskie and even Sturgeon.  This stretch of the river was once a hub of logging activity the remanence of which can still be seen scattered all over this extensive body of water.  Piles of cut logs and old derelict grounded wood barges create fantastic opportunity and ideal ambush points for Bass and Pike which holds great promise for the angler with a keen eye to see them.  Given the geographic location there are a number converging currents which create a number of eddies on the river which create great opportunities for both Walleye and Muskie.  In future Blogs I will continue to introduce you to this incredible angling destination and begin sharing some of my experiences and techniques I've used to help me become a successful angler up here.  I will also attempt to profile some of the other fishing opportunities in the plethera of lakes which surround our immediate area.  Stay tuned!!
