It has been a cold last half of January. We got down to -30 c here. It is warming up again we had temps above zero. I have not been out on the river but the flyfishing show came to town. It was great to see some tying demos and different product available. It is also a good time to meet and talk to some of the experts. I signed up for a casting class it was run by Chris Seipio. He
Well what a Monday. I was supposed to work but the job was not quite ready. I was traveling through town when I figured why not drop in on the river. It was a balmy 9 degrees C . I just tied some 20 midges in assorted colors and wanted to try them out. I jumped out of the truck put on my chest waders .Rigged my rod with the usual nymphs and hit the river. A lot of fly guys do
We are lucky here on the bow river We have chinook winds here which raises the temps above zero.This allows us to pull over and wade into the river and catch some fish Nymphing is what I do and catch browns and white fish It is a blast! Catching a brown on an 18 midge pattern is awesome Check out the photos.
