Storage Tip for Your Crankbaits

Posted On February 09, 2012
How many times have you reached into your crankbait tray to pull out a certain crank to only pull out three or four cranks with their trebles tangled together. While here is a tip that I had seen featuring Pro Alex Keszler that will eliminate that problem which I thought was worth mentioning.
1) First lay your top treble flat against the body.
2)Place your rubber band around the hook. Make sure that only one hook point is facing down and the other two are laying along the body.
3)Now wrap the band around the back treble making sure that two hook points are also along the body.
4)Wrap the band around both of the hooks now.
5)With the tag end, place the loop around the back hook.
6) Place the crank back into your tray.
After doing all of your cranks like this, you can now pick out which crank you want and pull only that one out now. I have done all of mine like this and boy what a difference this is going to make when I am on fish. No more fighting with tangled trebles.

Docks In For The Long Weekend

The City of Timmins put the docks in at the boat launch just in time for the long weekend and opening day of Walleye. The Mattagami River runs along the main drag on Riverside Drive through the city. What makes this a great location is not only because of the boat launchs, there is also a bend in the river which has a deep scour hole in it. The Mountjoy River  flows into the river

I have been waiting for my Ram Mounts to come in before installing my Humminbird 997c SI combo and 957c and they arrived the other day. The reason I have chosen the Ram Mounts is that I have used their products before and was extremely happy with them. They are also designed to carry the weight of these units. They will also save them from any shock and vibration that they will

Bottom Bouncer Flash

Here is something that I like to do when my water color gets dirty. For years I have done this and do not think many Walleye Anglers do this. So here goes. First I choose a Trout or Salmon spoon as they are light, similar to a flutter spoon. Next remove the hook from it and add a quality ball bearing swivel to both the front and rear of the spoon. Now simply clip the spoon, "narrow side" to

Started fishing young with my dad. Those days of biking to the near by rivers and creeks with my friend will always be locked in my memories. Still love fishing and at times when I get invited to go with a friend and one of their friends, when I catch a fish they get asked to bad he doesn't get out much as he really gets excited. My friend then replies, he fishs more than we do. Gotta love it.
