SILLY WILLY/CAPT. JOE RIGS

Posted On November 16, 2011

If you want to catch POMPANO and JACK try using these rigs. The top rig is called SILLY WILLY. The color is white and yellow with a red and pink fly, and the jig weight is 3/8oz. The bottom jig is called CAPT. JOE rig. It also is white and yellow with pink fly and weight is 3/8oz. These are the colors that I had the best of luck with in this area. NOTE: The SILLY WILLY comes with a leader line, but the CAPT. JOE rig does not. I suggest you use 30lb test SEAGUAR 100% FLUOROCARBON leader line about 3 feet in length, and the knot to make for the rig would be the RAPALA knot. NOTE: If you want to learn more about making this knot, go to one of my blogs which is called SEAGUAR FLUOROCARBON LEADER LINE. When working your jig, the presentation is at a slow speed. I suggest you try an area for a half hour. If you're not catching anything, then move to another spot and try there. If you don't catch anything in a half hour or more, that means they are not there. NOTE: JACK also like biting GOT-CHA lures as well, but when using GOT-CHA lures the presentation is at a faster speed. One of the best GOT - CHA lures I use is the 1oz. silver body with a chartruse head, with red hooks. So try this too. SO GOOD LUCK AND HAPPY FISHING.

If I'm going into a deep and strong current, I use from 1/2oz. to 1oz.

LADY FISH

Lady Fish are easy to catch, and they do give a good fight. You can catch this fish manly any time of the day. You can catch these Lady Fish off a pier, or right along the surf. I caught these fish at Sharky's Pier in Venice FL, or Thom's Adam Bridge in Englewood FL. The best three ways to catch this fish is to use GOT-CHA lures, D.O.A. C.A.L. jerk baits or use live shrimp. The color of the

POMPANO

POMPANO are fun to catch. Weather you are fishing the surf or off a pier. The best live bait is live Sand FLEA (Sand Crabs) or Fiddler Crabs. You can also try using dead shrimp, and cut squid as well. But the best way I fish for PAMPANO is using artificial jigs, such as Silly Willy's or Capt. Joe rigs. This jig is a Capt. Joe rig size 3/8oz with white and pink with a pink fly. I have also had
