Berkley Gulp/Sardine

Posted On April 10, 2012

This is the Berkley Gulp Saltwater 5" Jerk Shad Sardine. I have worked this bait in both green murky water or brackish water. The best jig head to use is the D.O.A. C.A.L. short shank color white. If I'm going shallow, I use a 1/4oz. jig head, If I'm going deep I use a 3/8oz. jig head. If I'm going into a deep and strong current, I use from 1/2oz. to 1oz. jig head. The presentation using this jig is at a moderate speed. For my main line, I am using 30lb test SUFIX 832 ADVANCED SUPERLINE (braided). The leader line I am using is 3 feet of 25lb test SEAGUAR 100% FLUOROCARBON line, which is invisible in the water. The best kind of knot to tie to your jig is the RAPALA knot, because, it creates more action out of the jig. NOTE: If you do not know how to tie the RAPALA knot go to one of my blogs which is called (SEAGUAR FLUOROCARBON  LEADER line). It will explain it there. I use these jigs around docks, bridges, and around mangroves, and I have the best of luck in the morning hours. SO GOOD LUCK AND HAPPY FISHING.

LADY FISH

Lady Fish are easy to catch, and they do give a good fight. You can catch this fish manly any time of the day. You can catch these Lady Fish off a pier, or right along the surf. I caught these fish at Sharky's Pier in Venice FL, or Thom's Adam Bridge in Englewood FL. The best three ways to catch this fish is to use GOT-CHA lures, D.O.A. C.A.L. jerk baits or use live shrimp. The color of the
