Ben McWhinney grew up in the mining town of "Elliot Lake, Ontario", and it was there that the fishing bug first bit him at the ripe age of 13. Fishing spots were plentiful in the forms of, streams, rivers, lakes, and ponds. It wasn't uncommon to find Ben standing on the shore of a backwoods lake, or skimming across the water with his fishing buddies to get to the next hotspot. Ben continued to followed his fishing passion for the outdoors and especially fishing, when he moved out west for work. That quest turned Ben to becoming a National Park guide for the renown outfitter, "Curries" learning the art of fly fishing and fly tying in the pristine mountain landscape of "Jasper National Park" Alberta. His affliction reached a feverish pitch when he settled with his family in Waterloo Ontario in the heart of "Grand River Country". It was there that Ben honed his fishing skills further by becoming a successful pro-staff sales associate at Natural Sports a leading tackle retailer in the area. His experience there afforded him the opportunity of becoming a Rookie team member in the "Scotty King of the Lake" for "The Xstream Fishing Team" on the swells of Lake Ontario in the Professional Salmon Tournament trail. " Whether it's for Bass or Kings, I love to fish it's not what I do it's who I am." Now Ben is Host of an Outdoor Production Company Called the Offensive Edge. And is focusing his attentions on promoting Canadian Tackle Manufactures, and industry members alike.
