In 2012 my cousin Ari and I decided to try our hands at a team bass tournament. We decided to try the event on Lake Scugog that took place on June 30, 2012. The day was beautiful and the water conditions were great. The bite itself was more difficult. After a great day Ari and I came in 16th place from a field of 100 teams. Not bad for our first tournament together.
My father taught me to hunt and fish. I always fish with him on the opening of bass season in Ontario. It is our tradition. I try to teach him new techniques when we fish together. He picks up how to use different approaches and has success with them. This year he has caught fish on the drop shot and with a wacky rigged Senko. But he is most comfortable throwing a YUM pink and white grub on a
This past year I blew up my rod for throwing the Jig N Pig and had a lot of fun using the Drop Shot for smallmouth bass. I took advantage of some sales and purchased a couple of high end St Croix SCV balnks and completed two builds. St Croix SCV Jig N Pig SC70HF-8-10 St Croix SCV Drop Shot 5569MLXF-8-10
I love my Daiwa Td ito reel. It casts a mile and looks sharp. My only complaint is that the drag system is a little soft for my taste. After some research I found that the drag can be upgraded to Carbontex drags. Carbontex feels like a woven material, almost like a brillo pad. After mustering up enough courage I began to work on the Td ito The reel handle comes off easy enough. Then
Yes it is December 31st....six days after Christmas. But I still have a wish list! I am thinking of doing an FLW Tour event as a co-angler. Does anyone out there have experience doing such an event? What do I need to know or do prior to such an event? I am trying to choose between the Detroit River or the Potomac River event. Any thoughts or help will be appreciated!

With the new sturgeon regulations we managed to play this fish to the beach. We also wanted to learn the process as we've never done this before. There's something very special about keeping a fish like this in the water and then releasing it like this. It's almost magical.
Here we use boats to cross the river just like in the video......
