Warren Cotton and Kirk Lewis of Memphis, Tennessee battled cold winds to take first place at a Crappie USA event on Washington Lake in Mississippi.
The team of Jerry Silmon and Brett Hortman battled through torrential rain and continuously rising water levels to win a $20,000 first-place check at a Bass Champs tournament on Lake Sam Rayburn.
Five of the top six anglers caught their bass on an Alabama rig during the ABA Toyota Tundra Bassmaster Weekend Series Alabama North Division 1 season opener, held Feb. 18, 2012, on Lake Guntersville.

On February 4th ABA members hit Lake Degray for the Arkansas division season opener. Tournament champs Danny Goodwin, and his co-angler, Tabitha Lancaster found the bass holding in a creek off the main lake and stayed there all day. They threw everything in their tackle boxes at the bass but caught them on an umbrella rig.
Boater Raymond Trudeau and his Co-Angler Judith Foxx-Johnson both landed large fish early - Trudeau had two 8+ lb bass by 9:30 and Foxx-Johnson took home the Big Bass award for her 10.78 bucket mouth.
ABA members in the South Carolina division hit Lake Murry for the first tournament of the season. Philip Anderson took top prize using a shaky head jig he caught his limit. On the co-angler's side Chad Schroeder's 3 run and gun bass won hip top honors.
Don and Martha Goodfellow took home the top prize and bragging rights in this year's Nation Championship.

Doug Orazine was the top boater and Kadin S. Dick took home top co-angler.
Rusty W. Strickland took home top honors for the boater division and David Barlow took it for the co-anglers.
William T. Cook took won the tournament in the boater division and Sammy L. Strong took home top prize in the co-anglers division.
Daniel Jeffers took top honors in the boaters division and Michael Tippett weighed in 3 fish to win first place in the co-angler division
20.33 pounds landed Jonathan Bowling in first place of the boaters division and Kenneth Palmer took home the prize for the second year in a row.
Jeremy Lawyer was the top boater in this tournament and Ryan Schneider won it all in the co-anglers division.
Corry C. Byrum took him top prize in the boater division and it was Durwood C. Daniels who won it for the co-anglers
