The IGFA has just released yet another batch of potential all-tackle (length) world record catches. As always, it should be noted that these catches are currently undergoing the approval process, and as of yet are not the official world records.
Bo Nelson was fishing Michigan’s Muskegon River on Oct. 16 when he landed a beautiful Chinook salmon. Caught on an egg sucking leech, the fish measured in at 95 cm.
Oct. 30 was a very good day for Peter F. Binaski. While fishing British Columbia’s Stamp River, he landed not one, but two potential world record catches. The first was a 79 cm coho salmon that he caught on a pink bomber. The second was a 76 cm chum salmon that was caught with a pink leech.
The all-tackle record for whitefin sharksucker may have been broken by Steven M. Wozniak on Nov. 13. Fishing in beautiful Islamorada in Florida, he used a live pilchard as bait to land the fish, which measured in at 50.165 cm and weighed 1 lb.
Heather Michelle Harkavy may have gotten her way into the record books with the Spanish mackerel that she caught on Nov. 23. Using pilchard as bait in the waters of Marathon in Florida, Harkavy’s beauty measured in at 58 cm.
Deep Pond is considered to be one of the best fisheries for chain pickerel in all of New York, and this was certainly true for Wesley C. Winters. On Nov. 25, using a live minnow for bait, he landed a monster that measured in at 56 cm.
Finally, Maureen Klause is back yet again with another potential striped bass record. New Jersey’s Delaware Bay has been very good to her, and the striper she landed this time around measured in at 106 cm, beating her previous record catch by 8 cm.
