“We had a great tournament,” said Pat Malone, HT Redfish Series president and CEO. “Everybody caught a lot of fish. The Louisiana marshes are some of the best redfish waters in the world. During the final weigh-in, a rain/tropical storm hit causing over an one hour delay, but the crowd at Academy hung in there and were rewarded with some great prizes from our sponsors. I thank the staff at Academy for the great job they did keeping as much of the equipment working as possible during the monsoon. I also want to thank our HT Nation volunteer drivers — Chad Eschete and Eddie Berthelot — who were the drivers pulling the top 10 rigs through the drive through weigh in.”
The top 35 teams from the Academy Sports and Outdoors HT Professional Redfish Invitational Series will compete for a share of $100,000 in the first HT Pro Redfish Series championship. The championship will be held Oct. 3-6, 2013 in Slidell, La. where HT3 Outdoors will crown the Team of the Year and award them the 22-foot Haynie bay boat package powered by a 250-horsepower Mercury outboard motor. The package retails for about $50,000. For more information on the tournament, see www.theredfishseries.com.
