The IGFA has released yet another batch of potential world record catches. As always, these catches are currently undergoing the review process, and as of yet are not officially recognized as world records.
Ethan Jack Francis got the thrill of a lifetime when he caught this massive tripletail on June 12, 2011. The fish was caught in Australia’s Flying Fish Point, weighed 25 lbs, 5 oz, and measured 86 cm. Francis was using dead mullet as bait.
Finally, the Arostegui family is back with two more potential record catches. On Jan. 22, Martin Arostegui was fishing Uruguay’s Daiman River when he caught a tararira that weighed 6 lbs, 12 oz, and measured 67.31 cm. It was caught using a diving plug. A day later, Roberta G. Arostegui was fishing in the Uruguay River when she landed a moncholo that weighed in at 7 lbs and measured 55.88 cm. The fish was caught on a custom jig.
