ICAST: New Megabass Lures Revealed
Here’s a rundown of new products that Megabass has unveiled ahead of ICAST 2012.
Bass are not only ambush hunters, theyre opportunistic feeders as well. If an easy meal comes their way, they wont hesitate to strike if theyre hungry. The Parabug is designed to tap into that mentality. This soft bait has feathers jutting out the sides, mimicking a large flying insect that has fallen in the water. Its designed to be retrieved slowly and with a precise twitching movement to truly capture that fallen insect display. Best cast near shore below overhanging trees.
Vision 110 Square Bill
The original Vision 110 has become one of the most popular jerkbaits in recent years, and is often seen in pro tournament circuits. Now, Megabass is introducing a square bill to the Vision 110, built to entice really finicky bass to strike. Because the square bill displaces water more effectively, the movement of the bait is sharper and less erratic than a rounded bill, ideal for less aggressive bass.
FX Knuckle 60
This crankbait has the typical FX Series’ adjustable square-bill lip seen only with Megabass products. Changing the direction of the lip will force the Knuckle 60 to different depths, making it a very versatile lure. The knuckle mechanism built into it allows for ultimate stability in your chosen path, keeping the bill firmly in place even when using the popular bump the stump technique.
Vibration-X B.A.F. Special
During the spawn, there are few things that bug bedding bass more than bluegill. This bait imitates the movement, look, and sound of a lingering bluegill. Because it floats just below the surface, its meant to be fished like a bluegill looking for eggs.
Balsa Max Long
The Balsa Max combines the traditional balsa wood body with the ultra-unique Megabass PopMax head, specially designed to intake water and have it pass through gills, creating life-like bubbles and chugging action. The Balsa Max Long is slightly larger than the original version, ideal for bigger, aggressive bass along the surface.
