STORIES BASSMASTER CLASSIC Posted Feb 03, 2015 Between Weigh-Ins at the Bassmaster Classic The bass fishing world is returning to Greenville, South Carolina, for the 2015 Bassmaster Classic. While watching the weigh-ins will undoubtedly be the highlight of your visit, there is a lot of time to kill while the competitors are out on the water. Here is a list of things to keep you busy between the weigh-ins. Outdoors Expo Every Bassmaster Classic is accompanied by an Outdoors Expo. Be sure to make the time to visit the TD Convention Center and see all the gear on display. Pros who don't make the cut for the final day of fishing usually end up spending the day in their sponsor's booth. This means that on the final day you have a good chance of meeting some of the Classic competitors. The Children's Museum of the Upstate The Bassmaster Classic is a great event to visit with your entire family. Between weigh-ins, children will enjoy a visit to the this educational and interactive museum. There are 20 exhibit galleries with over 100 hands-on activities. Children can simulate flight into space, design a race car, make their own TV broadcast and much more. Greenville Zoo Here is another attraction that is a good choice for the entire family. This zoo has a variety of wildlife from around the world displayed in open-air exhibits. It takes about 90 minutes to tour the entire zoo, so it makes for a good choice to fill the time between lunch and the weigh-in. The Gorge Zipline Canopy Tour The more adventurous fishing fans will enjoy a zip line tour through the Green River Gorge. The tour includes 11 zip lines, 2 rappels and a sky bridge. If you arrive early enough, you might even get a chance to watch a performance by Ringo Starr and His All Starr Band. Dark Corner Distillery Arrange a tour and tasting of this distillery that draws upon the rich heritage of the area. Try some of their award winning whiskey and moonshine. Victoria Valley Vineyards If whiskey isn't your thing, then arrange a tour of this vineyard instead. Sample some of their wines and take in the scenery while enjoying lunch on the terrace. Greenville County Museum of Art If you appreciate art, then you must visit this museum. It is considered the premier art museum in the South, and showcases some of the best works from this corner of the country. Mice On Main While visiting Greenville, you might notice mice statues scattered around on Main St. There are nine in total, but their exact locations are a secret. You can get clues online and challenge yourself to find them all during your stay. Upcountry History Museum Learn more about the rich history of the area by paying a visit to this museum. The stories of people who shaped the region are told through state-of-the-art multimedia exhibits.
